Le Atmosfere sonore materializzano sensazioni depositate nella memoria. Dario Imbò, con il procedimento alchemico della tintura (dyeing), impregna di ricordi le trame naturali: quattro notti d’estate, un giorno assolato, gli attimi evanescenti dell’alba marina.

Le Atmosfere sonore non rappresentano il suono in quanto fenomeno fisico, ma rendono visibile l’elaborazione mentale di una percezione, di un’esperienza. La fibra tessile, così presente e tangibile, permette di connettersi all’immaginario sonoro sedimentato nella memoria, in modo concreto, primordiale. Questo mondo di suggestioni multisensoriali è evocato dalle sottilissime variazioni di colore ottenute con il procedimento della tintura. Le irregolarità della trama generano il rumore di fondo, una vibrazione vitale per l’opera, che sollecita l’immaginazione dello spettatore. L’artista si confronta con il materiale povero e, immergendolo nel colore, conferisce fisicità a sensazioni fugaci.

Les Atmosphères Sonores matérialisent des sensations déposées dans la mémoire. Dario Imbò, avec le processus alchimique de la teinture (dyeing), imprègne les textures naturelles de mémoires : quatre nuits d’été, un jour ensoleillé, les moments évanescents de l’aube marine.

Les Atmosphères Sonores ne représentent pas le son comme un phénomène physique, mais ils rendent visible l’élaboration mentale d’une perception, d’une expérience. La fibre textile, si présent et tangible, permets de se connecter à l’imaginaire sonore décanté dans la mémoire, de façon concrète, primordiale. Ce monde de suggestions multisensorielles est évoqué par les plus fines variations de la couleur, obtenues avec le processus de la teinture. Les irrégularités de la texture génèrent le bruit de fond, une vibration vitale pour l’œuvre, qui encourage l’imagination du spectateur. L’artiste se mesure au matériel pauvre et, en le plongeant dans la couleur, il donne une qualité physique à des sensations fugaces.

Sound Atmospheres materialize sensations stored in memory. Dario Imbò, through the alchemical process of dyeing, soaks the natural fabric in memories: four Summer nights, a sunny day, the evanescent moments of a dawn by the sea.

Sound Atmospheres don’t represent sound as a physical phenomenon, but they make visible the mental elaboration of a perception, of an experience. The textile fibre is so present and tangible that allows the spectators to connect with the sound imagery settled in their memory, in a concrete and primordial way. This world of multisensorial suggestions is evoked by the subtle colour changes obtained through the process of dyeing. The irregularities in the fabric generate the background noise, a vibe that is vital to the artwork and rouses the spectator’s imagination. The artist confronts himself with poor material and, dipping it into colour, he gives a physical quality to passing sensations.
